Terms and Conditions
Overview
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the BriSharks Startup Education Programme and Platform operated by Youbooks Edtech Pte Ltd ("we", "us", "our"). By registering, paying, and accessing the Programme, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms.
1. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms form a legally binding agreement between you and the Company. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not register for or access the Programme. These Terms apply in addition to the End User Licence Agreement, Privacy Policy, and Refund Policy, each of which is incorporated herein by reference.
2. Eligibility
You must be aged 10–18 years to enrol in the Programme
If you are under 18 years of age, a parent or legal guardian must complete enrolment on your behalf and accepts these Terms on your behalf
If you are under 13, additional parental consent requirements apply as set out in the Privacy Policy and EULA
You must have access to a compatible device and internet connection to participate
You must provide accurate registration information and keep it up to date
3. Registration and Account
You must create an account to access the Programme. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately at contact@brisharks.com if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
4. Programme Description
The BriSharks Programme is a structured startup education experience comprising:
The Learn Module: 7 interactive chapters covering problem identification, customer discovery, MVP building, competition analysis, business models, customer validation, and responsible building
The Build Module: 6 stages guiding you to define, brand, build, launch, and test your startup
The Pitch Module: 4 stages including pitch framework selection, pitch deck creation, elevator pitch recording, and a Showcase Page
7 Master Classes: Exclusive sessions with world-class founders and executives
BriSharks Competition: A competitive evaluation process as described in Clause 5
5. Competition Terms
5.1 Eligibility for Competition
All enrolled students who complete the Programme within the cohort period are eligible to participate in the BriSharks Competition. Completion of all three modules is required.
5.2 Scoring and Selection
Participants are evaluated on a total score comprising three equal components (33.33% each):
XP Points earned during the Learn, Build, and Pitch Modules
Popular Vote Points received from the BriSharks community on Pitch submissions
Jury Points awarded by the official judging panel
The top 20 participants by combined score will be invited to present their startup at the Grand Pitch Event.
5.3 Prizes and Recognition
Details of prizes, recognition, media coverage, and incubation opportunities will be communicated to eligible participants separately. The Company reserves the right to modify or withdraw competition prizes, judging criteria, or the competition format at any time.
5.4 Conduct
Participants must act with honesty and integrity throughout the Programme and Competition. Plagiarism, vote manipulation, impersonation, or any other form of dishonest conduct will result in immediate disqualification.
6. Fees and Payment
Programme fees are as follows:
India: INR 4,999 inclusive of GST
Global (outside India): USD 200 inclusive of applicable VAT
UAE: Pricing AED699 Inclusive of Value Added Tax (VAT) where applicable
Fees are due in full at the time of enrolment. All payments are processed through secure third-party payment gateways. All fees are non-refundable as set out in the Refund Policy.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Platform or Programme to:
Violate any applicable law or regulation
Infringe the intellectual property rights of any person
Harass, bully, intimidate, or harm any other participant or person
Upload, post, or transmit any content that is defamatory, obscene, hateful, or discriminatory
Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Platform or any other user's account
Interfere with or disrupt the operation of the Platform
Use the Platform for any commercial purpose without our prior written consent
8. Master Classes
Master Classes are pre-recorded or live sessions delivered by third-party speakers. The content, opinions, and advice expressed in Master Classes are those of the individual speaker and do not constitute professional legal, financial, or business advice.
9. Media and Publicity
By participating in the Programme and Competition, you grant the Company the right to photograph, film, record, and reproduce your participation, pitch, name, age, school, and general location for the purposes of promoting the Programme across media platforms.
10. Intellectual Property
All Platform content remains the property of the Company or its licensors as detailed in the EULA. Your startup project materials remain your intellectual property, subject to the licence granted to the Company as set out in the EULA.
11. Limitation of Liability
The Company's liability to you in connection with the Programme and these Terms is limited to the amount of Programme fees paid by you. The Company is not liable for any indirect, consequential, or special loss or damage.
12. Changes to the Programme
The Company reserves the right to modify the Programme content, structure, Master Class speakers, competition format, or any other aspect of the Programme at any time. Material changes will be communicated to enrolled students.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. Any disputes shall be referred to the courts of Singapore, subject to any mandatory consumer protection provisions that may apply in your jurisdiction.
14. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
15. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the EULA, Privacy Policy, and Refund Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and the Company with respect to the Programme and supersede all prior agreements, representations, and understandings.
